Riley Cosby, Class of 2026, a communications major at 一本道视频, is quickly making a name for himself as a young filmmaker on campus. Originally from Texas, Cosby was drawn to the supportive, community-oriented atmosphere at 一本道视频 after feeling overwhelmed by the larger universities.
鈥淭he more I looked into 一本道视频, the more I felt comfortable with attending because college was always overwhelming to me,鈥 Cosby said. 鈥淭he colleges in Texas are huge, especially in The University of Texas at Austin. The thing with 一本道视频 is, it made me feel secure and like I could do more here.鈥
Last spring, Cosby showcased his twelfth short film, , at the Lava Film Festival in Greenfield, Massachusetts. The festival, which celebrates local artists and filmmakers, featured Cosby鈥檚 鈥渢wilight-zone, Cthulhu-inspired horror movie鈥 in its thriller and sci-fi category. Made with the help of friends who served as cast and crew, the film received an enthusiastic response.
鈥淭his festival was less of a competition,鈥 Cosby elaborated. 鈥淚t鈥檚 more about networking and meeting people who also share your passion. It was really cool, and our film got the largest applause. I think it was because I鈥檓 so keen on storytelling, not just as an art form, but as a fundamental in this rudimentary equation. I really try to hone in on what makes a story great, which is why it seemed like everyone seemed to love it. It was good for morale, too. It was a celebration of the hard work I and my friends put into it.鈥
